The energetic Nikhil Siddarth is back and this time he has chosen a commercial mass masala route to entertain. Whether he is different or not, let us see

Story
Kathi Seenu (Nikhil) is a good young man but a troublemaker. His activities bring trouble to his family but his Bava (Krishna Bhagawan) supports him. However, one incident challenges Kathi Seenu to find a girl, fall in love and marry her. In this process, he comes across Meghana (Pooja) at a wedding and falls in love with her.
However, Meghana is allergic to love and she rejects Seenu’s moves. On the other hand, the notorious Liquor Shankar (Sayaji) is searching desperately for Meghana. Who is Liquor Shankar? Why does he want Meghana? What happens to Kathi Seenu’s love story? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Nikhil is energetic as usual and he proves his mettle in acting, dance and fights. While he has the required skills to be called as a hero, he would need a stronger storyline and script to get into the main league.

Pooja Bose looks cute and has that typical Bengali sex appeal. She has a lovely smile and the glowing complexion that masses like to see. Performance wise, she was decent.

Sayaji Shinde did his required mix of acting. He was menacing wherever required and sprinkled some humour in his dialogue delivery. As such, his was a predictable role.

MS Narayana was excellent once again, Brahmi was wasted, Ali was not upto the mark, Venu Madhav was just okay, Raghu Babu brought few smiles, Krishna Bhagawan’s satires were adequate, the actor doing Nikhil’s friend’s role was upto the mark, Prithvi was entertaining, Suman was not used to his potential. The others did their bit as required.

Highlights
  • Nikhil’s energy levels and Pooja’s fresh looks
Drawbacks
  • Second half
  • Routine storyline
  • Silly comedy at key situations
  • Screenplay
  • Predictability
  • No depth in emotional scenes
Analysis
When a commercial mass masala entertainer is made, it is natural to see a certain formula being used. Few fights, few songs, some romance, some comedy and one sentimental twist.
However, if a filmmaker thinks that by putting all these together without adding a feel or content value, the film can become a success then it is wrong.
In this film, it appears that the director took off with a particular thought in mind but lost his direction midway or didn’t know how to fill the two and half hour duration. That’s why the first half looks promising and goes with good pace and a sudden drag happens in the second half. Even the quality of comedy goes down during the second half and at one point, it looks like they just want to end the film. In this process, the entertainment graph began to slide after reaching a good level.
At the box office, the film might work with the C centre audience for its profile but scoring success is doubtful.

Bottomline: Good start, poor end.
