Tomato Sambar
Recipe Ingrediants
Toor dal - 1 cup
Medium sized tomatoes - 2
Medium sized Onions - 2
Green chillies - 3
Sambar powder - 1-2 tsps
Tamarind - little
Chopped coriander - 2 tsps
turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Fresh Cocconut - 2 tsps
Salt
Seasoning
Mustard
Red chillies
Curry leaves
Hing
Recipe Procedure:
Boil dal in a pressure cooker
Slice onions, tomatoes length wise, slit green chillies
Heat 2 tsps oil in a kadai, add chopped onions and green chillies.
Fry until onions are transparant, add tomatoes
After tomatoes are done, add cooked dal, turmeric, tamarind, sambar powder, salt, water and boil.
Add Chopped coriander, grated cocconut, boil the sambar on low flame for 5-10 minutes.
In the end add seasoning.
Serve hot with idlis or rice.
