Puri Jagannadh: A Case Study
One of the most prominent directors of Tollywood is Puri Jagannadh and he has also made a brand of his own irrespective of his films’ performance at the box office. However, the last few movies of Puri didn’t really work barring the exception of ‘Businessman’. So where is he going wrong?
As such, the general argument is Puri is losing his grip. But those who know Puri properly counter this. They say that Puri is not losing grip but it is just his hastiness and giving more attention to quantity than quality which is resulting in more flops than hits.
As such, it is natural for any director to get tempted to do more projects as it means more money but if that approach is changed then Puri can surely show his grip. Someone who has made movies like ‘Pokiri’ and ‘Businessman’ we can’t judge by one film. It is better Puri changes his style say fans but it is his choice which way he wants to go.
