Story:
Kamal (Karthi) comes to city from his home town to seek help of political leaders to save his ancestral property. He will be shocked with the political conditions in the city. He faces sever insults and abuses from all the leaders, especially from the corrupted cruel Chief Minister Bhupathi (Prakash Raj) Meanwhile, he falls in love with Sri Devi (Pranitha).
One day Kamal has argument with Bhupathi. This argument goes to peak level. Kamal decides to enter politics, he then slowly plays games and enters into politics, With the help of local don Ramannakka (Radhika) and opposition leader Perumal (Kota Srinivas Rao) he becomes popular in state politics.
Meanwhile, Bhupathi attacks on Kamal to stop his growth. How Kamal counters these attacks? Will he save his property? Will he succeed in his love, is the rest of the movie.
Performances:
Karthi looks handsome in the movie. He performed in a natural way just like his previous movies. The good thing is actor has dubbed himself in Telugu. There are no loop holes in terms of Karthi’s performance.
Pranitha is not up to the mark. In fact she didn’t suit well with Karthi. When compared with previous heroines like Tamanna and Kajal who romanced with Karthi, the actress has less scope in the movie and is limited to songs mostly. The romantic track between Karthi and Pranitha is also not upto mark. In fact, the placements of few songs decreased the pace of movie.
Prakash Raj is apt for the role of corrupt CM Bhupathi. Santhanam as auto driver Rajini brings laughs. Especially, the scenes with Karthi came up very well. He played one of the important character in the movie. Radhika as Ramanakka performed very well. She suited the role. Kota Srinivasa Rao as Perumal and Nasser as B.D.Swamiji justified their roles.
Anushka appears as a police officer in a special appearance. She looks beautiful even in police dress. Roja did a cameo role
Analysis
Saguni(Sakuni) is a political entertainer. Director came up with a excellent story and tried to showcase the current political system. He managed to highlight the satires on the political system and political parties. The movie is made with rich technical values and cast. Karthi’s performance and Santhanam’s comedy are assets of the movie.
However, there are few scenes which misses logic and may not be liked by all audience. The placement of songs in the movie decreased the pace of the movie. The music by G V Prakash is average, the background score is good. Screenplay of the movie is lagging.
Final Word:
Overall movie is a political thriller and can be watched. Audience can enjoy the movie if they go with less expectations.
